A major goal of the NPC is to awaken you, our colleagues, our employees
and our patrons to the importance that State and local elections play
in the way we earn our living, support our families, pursue our dreams
and socialize with each other.
In the coming months, the NPC will direct your attention to elected
officials and candidates for office that appreciate the social,
cultural and economic importance of dining, socializing and nightlife.
We will ask you to vote for them and to contribute what you can afford
in time or dollars to their campaigns. Later this summer, look for our
list of official endorsements for the upcoming September 2009 Primary
elections. If you are not registered to vote, we will get you the
information you need to have your voice be heard. Those primary
elections will determine who will be in office and who will be passing
laws that effect your life.
It is time to get off the sidelines. No more "how did this law get
passed?" after the fact. Especially in city and state elections, your
vote can actually impact the results.
